ISCA CONGRESS 2010, SLOVAKIA 3rd circular

Transport to and from the venue:
  • Organizers will arrange transport to the venue on Sunday 17th October 2010 from the following airports: Vienna (A), Bratislava (SK), Kosice (SK), Poprad (SK). The time of departure from airport is assumed before lunch and before evening and will be adapted according to information of your flights arrivals. An extra fee will be charged for transport from the airport in amount not higher than for a train.

    • Express trains (Intercity - IC): Vienna – Bratislava – Liptovsky Mikulas (train change in Bratislava), Kosice – Liptovsky Mikulas
    • Long-distance buses: Bratislava – Liptovsky Mikulas, Kosice – Liptovsky Mikulas, Poprad – Liptovsky Mikulas
    • Own cars: highway Bratislava – Zilina, first class roads to Liptovsky Mikulas
  • Organizers will also arrange transport from the venue on Sunday 24th October 2010 to the following airports: Vienna (A), Bratislava (SK), Kosice (SK), Poprad (SK). An extra fee will be charged for transport to the airport in amount not higher than for a train.
Congress mission: “COMPLEX APPROACH IN SHOW CAVES MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION“
  • main topics and themes:
    • Science and environment: research, monitoring and protection of caves, prehistory in caves, radon, CO2, lamp flora and other human impacts
    • Technologies and development: technical infrastructure of caves, information technologies, cave lighting, communication and other technologies, sustainable development, speleotherapy
    • Economics: marketing, promotion and operation of caves, economics of show caves
    • Education: training of guides, environmental education, show caves and development of surrounding territory
Presentation and papers
  • Upon the results of replies to invited key not lecturers a final programme for presentations was set up.
  • The invited papers will have 30 minutes, out of which 5 minutes are reserved for immediate discussion after the paper.
  • The requested papers by participants will have 20 minutes, out of which 5 minutes are reserved for immediate discussion at the end of each presentation.
  • Presentations should be prepared in software version (e.g. ppt)
  • Posters are possible in dimension up to 90 (w)x120 (h) cm to be delivered at registration
  • Abstract book and Excursion guide will be included in the registration packet.
  • Deadline for submission of full papers is during the Congress. Proceedings will be published in 2011 and sent to full participants.
Registration fee: full participant 350 EUR, accompanying person 300 EUR
Registration fee includes: congress materials (bag, abstract book, cave book, etc.), coffee breaks, transport during congress, admission to sights and other organisational costs.
In case you will take part in conference in duration up to 3 days, the conference fee will be reduced by 100 EUR (i.e. to 250 or 200 EUR respectively). When attending for 4 and more days you will pay the full registration fee.

Meals: the price for meals for all 6 days is 200 EUR (in case of post-congress excursion to Hungary it will be 185 EUR), breakfast is included in accommodation.
The exact individual price for meals will be calculated according to information from the binding registration form. The participants will pay only for meals of the days when they attend the Congress.

Parallel programme for accompanying persons will be provided by the hotel (sports, history, culture, hiking, thermal spa) in case of interest. Meals during overlapping times will be charged only once.

Important information before payment:

For calculation of the exact amount to pay it will be necessary to fill in the detail information in the Binding Registration Form at the end of this circular. After receiving the registration form we will calculate the sum to pay according to the rules written above. Then we will send you a confirmation email with a sum to be paid. In case everything is all right, we will issue a PROFORMA INVOICE and send to you scanned by email, so that you could pay by bank transfer in advance. It will be possible to pay for more people at one time – just let us know the names in payment information. The normal/regular INVOICE will be given to you during the congress.

For writing a PROFORMA INVOICE we need additional information: Name of your Institution/Company, full postal address, institution/company identification number (if applicable), VAT number (in case of value added tax payers only), bank name and number of your account in IBAN form. In case of physical persons paying by bank transfer provide us only with: Name, address and bank name and account number in IBAN form.

For those who have sufficiently filled in the registration form in the 2nd Circular, we process the information we have and send them the confirmation email accordingly.

In case of any mistakes or unclarities we are ready to correct them and if necessary, we can provide you with all details as for calculation of your final costs.
